  2. Mix in vanilla and milk. In your bowl, add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/2 teaspoon whole milk to the creamed butter and sugar.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of flour, but start by stirring in just one tablespoon of flour. Then add a pinch of salt and a pinch of baking powder. Add the last 2 tablespoons of your flour and stir until the dry ingredients are properly mixed.
  4. Set the dough on parchment. Cut out a square of parchment paper that is wide enough. Scoop your cookie dough onto the center of the parchment so that it roughly looks like a ball. Lightly press down on the dough ball to flatten it a little. ( so that it can bake evenly in the microwave). Alternatively, you can scoop the cookie dough into a mug cup. Make sure you melt butter into the mug cup if you want to use this method. 
  5. Place the parchment with your cookie dough onto a microwave-safe plate. Microwave the cookie dough for 30 seconds. If the cookie still looks doughy, you can microwave it for another 5 to 10 seconds depending on the size until it looks baked. Let it cool for a little while before removing the cookie from the parchment
